The following measures are in place in our office to ensure the safety of all those attending in-person sessions:
In order to provide safety for everyone, please follow the recommendations of Health Canada and the Provincial Health Authority. DO NOT COME IN if you are feeling unwell, tired, coughing, sneezing or have a fever. You will not be charged the late cancellation fee if you are unwell and need to cancel outside the 24 hours notice. "Combining her knowledge of practices of mindfulness acquired through yoga with her counselling skills acquired through her education and her practical work with clients makes her an excellent counsellor."
"When I think of Maria's clinical work, so many words come to mind: creative, compassionate, skillful, caring, patient, genuine, insightful, intuitive, grounded and ethical. Maria’s contributions to our program in terms of clinical wisdom and sound clinical judgement have been precious; her commitment to her practice was noted in her quest for continuous growth, learning, professional development, and a strong commitment to an ethical praxis. In my opinion, the counselling field is very fortunate to have the presence of this very talented, skillful, and caring individual."
"Maria's patience and commitment to individual help has been a source of healing and has enabled me to take on life's physical and mental challenges. In her yoga class, rather than using the body to get in to the poses, we use the poses to get into the body - and ultimately into consciousness."

Skype counselling sessions also available upon request.
Everyday I am inspired by the strength and resiliency of the human spirit to carry on, to move forward, to connect, to evolve, to heal.
I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counselling and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (RCC #14007). I approach my work as a counsellor from a place of both humility and honour as I am given the opportunity to meet clients where they are at, often times when they are at their most vulnerable, and to be a part of their process of learning, growth, and healing. I have worked in the non-profit sector for various organizations helping those struggling with anxiety from children to adults increase there emotional well-being and decrease their anxiety and stress. In my clinical work I have experience working with children, youth, adults couples and families. I am also a dedicated yoga instructor and have been for the past 15 years. Personally I have practiced and studied Eastern based practices such as yoga, meditation and mindfulness for over 20 years. Both yoga and mindfulness based practices weave themselves beautifully into every aspect of my life and my work as a mother, partner, mentor, teacher, and counsellor. I have over 10 years of experience facilitating workshops that delve deeper into these practices and that help individuals begin to integrate these practices into their everyday lives.
